Welcome to our home!
Front of the house as it was listed
Living room as it was listed
View from the front door
After with new paint color (Silver Sage by RH)
The couches are the furniture that I bought when I graduated from grad school and had my first apartment on my own. I bought them from a furniture store that was going out of business so I got a great price. I can't WAIT to get new couches that aren't red. Or patterned.
Got to love the huge dog crate in the corner as well as the photo mat from our wedding that it still waiting to be hung.
I'm trying to get up the motivation to repaint the table. I'm not a huge fan of the white.
I love the natural light from all the windows, but I am really struggling with the window coverings. DH wants to get blinds, but I feel like it still needs curtains. Might be difficult with the weird shaped/arranged windows.
It's a globe, no wait.......it's a bar!!
Living room area as listed (not our furniture)
To Do: Pick new paint color, change out light fixtures
Before pic
After with Blue Sage paint. Not drastic, but not many colors would match with the olive green. Since I was painting the living room, figured I might as well tackle the kitchen too.
Old pictures from before painting.
After with new color (Blue sage from RH)
The silver sage next to the blue sage. it's two shades darker than the SS
So glad to finally have a window that looks out into the backyard. We have a hummingbird feeder outside the window and I still get excited each time I see one. They are SO pretty!
One of my favorite wedding gifts: a ceramic plaque of the Elms Mansion where we got married.
I am in love with the glass front cabinet doors
Recessed lights over the counter area. Love them!
Tile in the kitchen
Pantry
Kitchen To Do List: Get new curtain for above the sink (previous owner's) and new light fixture where ceiling fan currently is
View from breakfast nook
To Do: DH hates the shade on this lamp so I'm trying to decide what to put there instead
Before pic of the back of the house
After pics
DH cut down all the stray branches. The grass is also starting to fill in. I plan on reseeding the yard this fall in the hopes of one day having a nice looking yard.
After pic with our new patio cover. I think it makes the patio look a lot bigger
PS- the lovely piece of crap swing that previous owners left has since been demolished. I think DH really enjoyed breaking it into pieces.
Updated patio. Patio set from Wold Market
Cute lantern from Target
Coleus growing on the porch
Window box that DH hung for me. I love the pretty little flowers. I can't help but smile when I see them.
Badly neglected and over grown back yard. The previous owners were not big fans of yard work. We found all kinds of lovely surprises once we started working.
To Do: Continue encouraging grass to grow, more gardening
Updated pics of my gardening efforts in the backyard
So far I have some hibiscus and lantana. I also have a butterfly bush that needs planting.
Before
After
Still a work in progress but he plants are starting to fill in some.
Gardenias that I can't WAIT to bloom
Our satsuma tree that we planted on our anniversary.
Look! It has little baby fruit!!
Shed and more back yard. One day we WILL have grass in the back yard!!

The huge, beautiful oak tree in the front yard
Guest bath shower curtain fabric
Sink that needs updating
Cabinets that also need some help. I'm not sure if updating the hardware would be enough to save these guys! I'm thinking maybe new faces for the cabinets and drawers could make a huge improvement.
Master Bath
Let me preface this by saying there is nothing master at all about this bathroom. In fact, the whole layout is goofy and I hate it! Besides painting, this is my #1 project. We're trying to figure out what to do to it without having to do a whole addition to the house. Ugh!
The vanity area. I'm not sure whose bright idea this was, but there are no doors separating the vanity from our bedroom. So, when I'm trying to get ready in the morning without waking DH up, I have to use the closet light or go in the other bathroom to do my makeup.
Cabinets that someone tried to stain very poorly.
Shower curtan is Silver Sasge from RH, but it didn't photograph very well. It's hard to get a good pic when the bathroom is that tiny! It literally is the shower and the toilet. No room for anything else. My closet is bigger than the bathroom portion!
